Lake Wairarapa
With our time in Wellington nearing its end Tiffany and I have been trying to get out as much as we can and last weekend went camping on Lake Wairarapa. We had planned to camp farther south beyond the lake but didn't realize the campground we had in mind could only be accessed by crossing two fjords. After finding our backup spot in the last few minutes of sunlight we awoke the next morning realizing we had set up closer to the shore than we thought. We also enjoyed a rainbow that lasted for over 2 hours. Pretty good way to start out your Sunday. Below are a few shots from our short trip. Next weekend we plan to go again with some others before we all leave wellington and get back to the whole "backpacking thing".
I took this 80 megapixel panorama (top) about 20 meters from our tent. At full resolution it can be printed up to 60" wide and over 15" tall. There is also a hawk resting on one of the posts in the distance that can only be seen at full resolution. I can't wait to print it.
Some of the farmland to the right of the panorama.
Here is that rainbow lined up with a pied shag.
Same rainbow going in and out of brightness.
I've never seen a rainbow shot at 400mm.
Bright and early.
Still breaking in our new Macpac Olympus tent.
