Museum Fire - Flagstaff, Arizona
Over the past two days i’ve documented the progression of the currently out of control Museum Fire in Flagstaff, Arizona.
A few things to know as of 9:30am on July 24, 2019:
600 Personnel working on this fire
Currently the number one priority in the United States due to the proximity of the fire to assets.
1887+ acres
10% contained
Due to the location of the burn area and the drainage for that region there is a serious risk of flooding for areas between Cedar Ave and 4th Street.
The area from Cedar Hill near Buffalo Park from Paradise Hills Park to Coconino High School and Sunnyside neighborhood are at the largest risk. If you are in that area it is worth preparing for flash floods or mudflows once the rains start. .
If you live in this area or know someone who does please share this information with them. It probably wouldn’t hurt to get sandbags ready either.
The forecast is for gusts up to 50mph on the east side and thunderstorms through the rest of the week.
Stay safe.
Feel free to share.
